Jennifer L. Baker
Jennifer is an intuitive contemporary painter with studios in Italy and the USA. She considers herself a seeker of the light and captures it in all of her paintings. Her paintings are an ode to life, to becoming, and to majesty. They are a reminder to take a moment to release the trappings of the mundane, to look up, down, far, and close. To be still. Her work is the result of meditation, intuition, and sometimes a real or perceived memory. A walk in the rain. The sky at dusk. The sunrise. The lotus flowers on the lake. The flaming sun. Koi slow-dancing in the pond. The night sky over all of humanity... The ultimate mysteries of the universe. Her paintings are made to call you home. Home to yourself, to your own space of light. Her work is beckoning, instantaneous, and sensual. Her perspective is tactile and sensorial. She creates spaces that are sometimes dreamlike and sometimes reminiscent of the natural world. Jennifer’s work is inspired by a call of the wild. The reminder to stop and be exquisitely still. She earned my BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She is an awarded finalist at the Biennale di Genova in 2021. Her paintings have been exhibited throughout Europe and the United States, and are part of private collections in 14 countries around the world. Several of her pieces were recently auctioned at the Orlando Museum of Fine Art. She splits her time between the majestic mountains of northern Italy and the high country in Colorado, and more recently a secluded lakeside cabin in the Ocala National Forest in Florida.

- Stay with me ~ Large gold abstract floral landscape paintingBy Jennifer L. BakerLocated in Ocklawaha, FLIn crafting this piece, I channeled my passion for the intangible dance of feelings and thoughts. Oils offer depth and richness, applied in layers to create an immersive landscape of emotion. There's a sense of movement, almost like the ebb and flow of a serene tide, contained within the abstraction. This painting is a reflection of life's complexities, striving to resonate and awaken a profound connection in the beholder's spirit. "Stay with me" is a captivating human scale painting that beckons the person viewing it to step inside and stay a while. It is made with a gorgeous golden palette with violet and...Category

- "Untitled, " Alan Fenton, Abstract Expressionism, New York School, Color FieldLocated in New York, NYAlan Fenton (1927 - 2000) Untitled, 1958-1960 Oil on canvas 90 x 84 inches Fenton's quiet and contemplative nonobjective paintings and drawings were widely recognized for their demanding yet understated means of revealing a serious and sober essence. He identified greatly with Mark Rothko, a friend, as well as Adolph Gottlieb and Jack Tworkov, with whom he had studied privately. Fenton painted in New York City in the late 50's as the explosion of Abstract Expressionism turned into a rebellion against gestural, emotional painting. More concerned about his art than his posture, he expanded upon a tradition in painting with influences as diverse as Whistler and Turner as well as Ad Reinhardt and Joseph Albers. Alan Fenton was born in Cleveland in 1927, studied at the Cleveland School of Art, The Arts Students League, The New School, and at NYU, earning his BFA at Pratt Institute, where he later taught painting for many years. At seventeen, Fenton served in the Merchant Marines where he began a career as a professional boxer, a skill he had honed on the streets. He moved successfully through the graphic design business en route to becoming a painter in New York at the height of the art revolution of the fifties and sixties. Fenton enjoyed success with his subtle washes and pencil drawings as well as large abstract...Category
