This is a limited edition, numbered, oak boxed edition, set of forty-eight (48) 16” x 20” chromogenic and gelatin silver prints, shot by famous Playboy and international photographers, including: Tom Kelly, Bert Stern, Guido Argentini, David La Chappelle and Sante D’Orazio, among others and captures the history of a time gone by. These iconic images feature Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, Pamela Anderson, Ursula Andress, and Stephanie Seymour, among many other Playboy entertainer and model icons.
Hugh Hefner rarely signed any photographs. He did so for the Playboy Legacy Collection - Gold Edition, signing only one image per set of Playboys first centerfold Playmate, Marilyn Monroe, who appeared as the “Playmate” centerfold in the first issue (1953) of Playboy Magazine. He signed either a black and white photo of Marilyn Monroe, shot in 1946 by Earl Moran and featured as the first centerfold in the magazines debut or a color image of Marilyn Monroe shot in 1953 by Tom Kelly. This set has the 1946 black and white shot by Earl Moran.
Each of these 48 museum quality prints were carefully selected and approved by late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and International Images founder, Norman Solomon. They were selected for The Playboy Legacy Collection, for their iconic beauty and timeless history and produced by International Images in 2007. Each print is blind stamped in the lower right margin.
Twenty-Five of these sets were set in a stunning natural wood oak box. The remaining 50 sets (a total of 75 sets) did not come with a custom made and numbered oak box. Each oak box had the Playboy Bunny logo in metal, embedded on the top and also an embedded key hole on the front side, with each key numbered. The box has a drawer (see photos) to contain the following:

- "Persephone" contemporary and elegant, mixed media photography on wood, hi-glossBy Hugo Garcia-UrrutiaLocated in Dallas, TXThis is a beautiful contemporary photograph of a Greek sculpture. The photograph is processed in a way that the grain of the wood eventually becomes the "canvas" and backdrop for this image. It is processed directly on Baltic birch wood using archival inks and is then sealed with a durable Hi-gloss lacquer. HUGO G. A graduate and active member of the Architectural Association in the United Kingdom, Urrutia’s work creates a distinct spatiality located at the interstice of art and architecture. - Crossing Bridges - contemporary and elegant, photography on woodBy Hugo Garcia-UrrutiaLocated in Dallas, TXThis is a beautiful contemporary photograph of the bridge over the River Kwai in Thailand. The photograph is processed in a way that the grain of the wood eventually becomes the "canvas" and backdrop for this image. It is processed directly on birch wood using archival inks and is then sealed with a durable semi-glossy lacquer. The image shows a person with a bright halo, crossing the bridge or in the center of the bridge about to cross a metaphorical bridge. This metaphor can be translated into many beautiful messages in life. HUGO G. - Woman Clothed with the SunLocated in Purling, NYMy medium is digital collage, and my process involves photographing women in studio, allowing them complete autonomy in their poses. I then photograph paintings in museums and weave together the ideal elements from Old Master paintings to suit each woman. This work addresses religious art in the context of a canon of art history that expunges women and a religious history that subjugates women. This series depicts forgotten women martyrs and leaders, and challenge the erasure of goddesses by the power structures of the Patriarchy and the monotheism that have dominated Western Civilization. The work is an archival pigment print with applied gold leaf in an antique porcelain frame.Category
