About the Item
"Champs Elysees" is an original pop art metal wall sculpture, handpainted by of well-known Israeli artist David Gerstein. This metal wall sculpture contains three layers, depicts a street scene on the Champs Elysees in Paris, and has a simple hanging system to attach to any wall from the back. Pop impressionism on steel. 120 x 50 x 17 cm. Comes with Certificate.
David Gerstein (born 1944 in Jerusalem, Israel) is a painter and a sculptor, an excellent draughtsman and craftsman, who seeks to expand the limits of two-dimensional paintings into three-dimensional sculptures. In his choice of subject matter he wishes to break down the existing barriers between the work of art and its audience, by creating enchanted and simple straightforward images, which render sometimes intimate, dream-like, naive scenes and at ther times a cinematic, large scale, choreographed reality. It is between pop and hard place: pop impressionism on steel. Authentic, fun and colorful.
